Ultra-luxury Crystal has debuted the first-ever Casino de Monte-Carlo at sea for guests aboard Crystal Symphony. That happened during a special ribbon-cutting ceremony on the first night of the line’s “Chairmen’s Cruise” in Venice, Italy.
The arrival of the new Crystal casino follows the announcement of an exclusive collaboration with Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer (SBM), a leader in entertainment, hospitality and gaming.
Next to come? In addition to launching on Crystal Symphony, the upscale casino will soon be unveiled on Crystal Serenity, when the ship departs from Port Everglades (Greater Fort Lauderdale), FL, on December 18, 2024.
The brand’s elevated gaming offerings will also be available on all future oceangoing vessels. That includes three new ships on order from Fincantieri. The line said that would exclude any expedition ships, should the line have those vessels at any point.

Chairman Lefebvre’s Perspective
“We could not be prouder to unveil the first-ever Casino de Monte-Carlo at sea aboard Crystal Symphony this week,” says Manfredi Lefebvre, executive chairman of A&K Travel Group. “There was no better choice for a gaming partner than Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, founded more than 160 years ago” which “remains a global leader in the casino industry.”
Lefebvre says he’s personally known the Casino de Monte-Carlo team for many years. “Like Crystal, they are fully committed to delivering upscale experiences that cater to the discerning tastes of travelers from around the world,” he stresses. “The future is bright for both of our brands.”
Positioning on the Ships
If you sail, where will you find the new casino and what size is it? First, on both vessels, the new casino is more than 1,000 square feet. So, it’s roomy for the size of the ships.
Positioning-wise, it’s found where the Bridge Lounges were once located on both ships. In both casinos, guests will find unparalleled gaming options at sea.
“For instance, guests can play slot machines, blackjack, American roulette and Ultimate Texas Hold’em, says Shelby Steudle, president, Pavlus Travel.” She notes that Crystal Symphony‘s new casino features 29 slot machines and three live tables.
In addition, Crystal Serenity‘s casino will open with 32 slot machines and three live tables.
As for the look of the new casinos, their design was created by SBM. Crystal and SBM wanted to closely mimic the look of the original Le Casino de Monte-Carlo.
While enjoying the gaming action, Crystal’s guests will also have access to premium beverage offerings. So, they can order specialty cocktails and a collection of global wines serviced by Avenue Saloon.
Finding the Best Partner
“It is a huge pleasure to inaugurate the first Casino de Monte-Carlo ever outside the Principality of Monaco,” says Stephane Valeri, chairman and CEO of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer. “I am very grateful to Crystal for making this dream come true.”
After learning how much its loyal past guests missed having gaming options onboard, Cristina Levis, CEO, A&K Travel Group, says that “we knew we could maintain the essence of the previous Crystal casino experience while infusing fresh elements into our brand.”
Part of that, she says was “finding a partner that would ultimately exceed expectations. We are so proud of what we have accomplished in collaboration with Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer.”
So, if you sail, Crystal hopes guests will find both sophistication and attention to detail in the new casino spaces. Levis says, “We can’t wait to hear feedback from our guests who have been awaiting this next phase of our journey.”
