Viking has introduced four new 2027-2028 World Cruise itineraries across six continents. For curious, culturally focused travelers eager to explore the world and visit dozens of countries, here’s a look at these enticing voyages.

144-Day Viking World Cruise

A newly announced, 144-day Viking World Cruise will visit 31 countries and — for maximum destination time and flexibility — overnight in 16 cities across the globe.

Guests will depart on the elegant, 998-passenger Viking Vesta from Port Everglades (Greater Fort Lauderdale), FL, on December 28, 2027. So, it’s a domestic departure for Americans, without the need for a flight overseas to reach the embarkation point.

Bottom line? This is a deeply immersive experience. Viking’s World Cruise itineraries visit many of the world’s most iconic cities. That said, they also call at lesser-known destinations, and culturally rich ports of call, all in one continuous journey.

During this extensive voyage, Viking World Cruise guests will go ashore on six continents before reaching their final destination of London, U.K., on May 18, 2028.

Pricing at press time started at $62,995, per person, double occupancy. But keep reading below for information about value-added perks available from Viking through August 31, 2025.

Chat with a skilled personal travel planner for details about those and other special amenities, recommends Shelby Steudle, president, Pavlus Travel. Also, be sure to ask how to get the best deal with top-notch service!

Destination Intensive: Viking World Cruise

On the itinerary front, “Viking’s approach is highly destination-focused,” explains Steudle. “So, guests who sail on any of the line’s World Cruises will discover thoughtfully designed itineraries.”

Typically, travelers have plenty of flexibility and time to experience dozens of fascinating global destinations. “It’s one seamless voyage, and guests become the ‘ultimate explorers,'” she adds.

For instance, World Cruise guests will explore ports in Central America, transit the famed Panama Canal and journey up the West Coast of North America. Then, they’ll cross the Pacific Ocean and visit islands in Hawaii and French Polynesia including Tahiti.

After its visit to French Polynesia, Viking Vesta will head to destinations in New Zealand and Australia. The ship will also call at ports in Southeast Asia.

One top highlight is Africa! Viking will offer multiple options for wildlife safari excursions. And then the ship heads for iconic cities in Western Europe.

As for overnight stays, guests will enjoy those in Sydney, Australia; Singapore; Zanzibar, Tanzania; Cape Town, South Africa; Casablanca, Morocco; and elsewhere.

More World Cruise Options!

Yet another global voyage option is the bit shorter 125-day “Viking World Discoveries” from Los Angeles. This voyage visits 27 countries and concludes in London. At press time, fares started at $59,995 per person, double occupancy.

But if guests desire maximum time sailing around the globe, after the 144-day Viking World Cruise, they might, alternatively, choose the 170-day Viking World Voyage III, which continues from London.

Travelers will visit 21 additional ports of call across Northern Europe and Scandinavia, before the cruise ends in Stockholm, Sweden.”One plus is that 83 guided tours are included in the cruise fare,” says Pavlus’ Steudle.

At press time, that global extravaganza voyage started at $79,995 per person, double occupancy.

Viking also offers additional options, including the 153-day Viking World Voyage IV, which sails from Los Angeles, CA, to Stockholm. This journey touches 37 countries. Pricing, at press time, started at $69,995, per person, double occupancy.

Viking World Cruise: Onboard and Ashore

During the World Cruises, Viking will offer guests extensive cultural enrichment through onboard lectures and entertainment. In particular, we love the Viking Resident Historian program. It provides a high-level historical and cultural perspective about destinations along the journey.

On excursions — many included in the cruise fare — guests can also learn about the local lifestyle in the individual ports of call. Travelers will  have opportunities to connect with local culture, traditions and communities.

For those seeking a deeper understanding of the destination, optional excursions are also available. Those offer in-depth experiences such as behind-the-scenes access to the local lifestyle.

Another plus is Viking’s Privileged Access at cultural institutions; these optional experiences aren’t available to the general public.

World Cruise: Overland Adventures

Desire to spend even more time ashore? Well, Viking also offers World Cruise guests the option of taking multi-day overland excursions.

So, guests can explore the region farther inland before rejoining the ship at a later port. Among those overland experiences are these:

  • Six-dayUluru & Great Barrier Reef Overland” excursion to admire Australia’s natural wonders.
  • Six-day “India’s Golden Triangle Overland” excursion to experience the country’s famous landmarks. Those include the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and the “Pink City” of Jaipur.
  • Five-day “Kruger National Park Overlandexcursion in search of the “Big Five” in Africa.

Best Deal and Perks

Good news! From now through August 31, 2025, Viking is offering North American travelers a special savings on 2027-2028 World Cruises. That includes the following:

  • Free business class airfare and transfers.
  • A $4,000 per couple shore excursion credit.
  • A $2,000 per couple shipboard credit.
  • Complimentary Silver Spirits Beverage Package and more.

Returning Viking guests also receive an additional $2,000 per couple in shipboard credit. Plus, guests can enjoy a limited-time reduced deposit of 10 percent.

As always, Viking Inclusive Value also features one complimentary shore excursion in each port, complimentary access to The Nordic Spa & Fitness Center, free Wi-Fi and more.

Guests who pay in full early may also enjoy additional savings. But the savings won’t last. Just two weeks remained at press time for this offer. So, be sure to talk with a skilled personal travel planner about the Viking World Cruises and the choices the line is providing.
