A festive, luxury cruise during the holiday season — over Christmas, Hannukah or New Year’s Eve — is often cherished by travelers. Beautifully decked out with holiday decor, the ships resemble magical wonderlands at sea. And through 2027, Regent Seven Seas Cruises will set sail on 12 such holiday voyages.

Holiday-style entertainment will range from musical performances to dazzling cabaret shows. Plus, the ships will offer themed trivia nights. And of course, Christmas and Hanukkah religious services will be conducted on board too.

As for food and drinks, guests will also discover an all-inclusive Epicurean Perfection experience. On tap are delectable feasts, curated holiday dishes and specialty beverages.

“Guests will be immersed in the festive spirit from the moment they step on board,” says Jason Montague, Regent Seven Seas’ chief luxury officer. “From magnificent Christmas trees in the atrium to festive floral arrangements, an exquisite hand-crafted gingerbread village and a breathtaking display for the lighting of the menorah, there will be a celebratory sight around every corner.”

Delicious Holiday Dining

Wondering what the onboard holiday season menus will entail? Here’s a sneak peek.

Menus: Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

Look for Regent Seven SeasChristmas Eve menus to feature European-themed dishes,” says Shelby Steudle, president, Pavlus Travel. “Think Scandinavian gravlax, German Christmas goose and English Christmas pudding.”

Next up, the special Christmas Day Gala Menu will feature American-inspired dishes. So, guests will discover Christmas gumbo duck, burrata-truffle risotto and roasted turkey with chestnut stuffing.

In addition, one can splurge with a holiday dessert. “How about a yummy slice of pumpkin pie,” asks Steudle? “Or go with European tradition and order the Christmas panettone pudding.”

Pre- and post-Christmas Day Gala, a specially crafted cranberry “Santa Clausmopolitan” and eggnog will be available in every onboard bar.

New Year’s Eve Gala Menu

As for the New Year’s Eve Gala Menu, look for European-style dishes. For instance, luxury cruisers will savor apple and goat cheese tarte tatin. Or alternatively, how about sauteed foie gras with honey, figs and brioche?

That might be followed by surf and turf with beef tenderloin and lobster tail. A classic baked Alaska is the perfect way to conclude the meal.

Holiday Cruises: New Year’s Eve

Regent Seven Seas will also help guests celebrate New Year’s Eve with a special Champagne experience. Plus, the Coffee Connection on all voyages will be the spot to secure seasonal specialty coffees and hot chocolate.

Good news is that 32 shore excursions are included in the guest’s cruise fare.

First calling at Lombok and Komodo, Indonesia. Eco-adventurers can view Komodo dragons in the wild.

Then the cruise continues through the Timor Sea to Darwin, Australia, for an overnight stay. We’d head out for the complimentary “Jumping Crocodile Cruise” excursion, a light half-day activity outing.

Jumping Crocs, Fabulous Beach

Guests will venture by motorcoach into the tropical wetlands. This eco-area is the place to spot unique animals and plants. Boarding a river vessel, they’ll cruise along the Adelaide River.

What’s special? This river is home to “jumping crocs.” Yes, toothy, full-grown adult crocodiles spontaneously leap out of the water. Sometimes that’s by as much as their body length!

Seven Seas Explorer will then sail along Australia’s picturesque east coast to Cairns. That’s a major gateway for Great Barrier Reef activities such as scuba diving, snorkeling, beach play and helicopter rides.

During this holiday cruise, guests might also take a luxury high-speed catamaran cruise to Whitehaven Beach in the Whitsundays. That destination is often voted among the places with the world’s top 10 beaches.
