Holland America’s Zuiderdam is back in service with a fresh look and new features following a two-week drydock in the Bahamas.

Most notably, the 1,964-passenger Vista-class ship now sports a redesigned Crow’s Nest. It also has more oceanview staterooms, new finishes and new carpeting throughout the ship.

Holland America’s loyal past guests love the Crow’s Nest, a relaxed setting with panoramic sea views. In the recent drydock, this favorite public venue received a new bandstand stage with upgraded lighting and audio systems.

The goal? “It’s to provide more versatility for the space so it can host intimate performances and events,” says Shelby Steudle, president, Pavlus Travel. Those will include small-scale live music, lectures, narration and guest speaker programs.

Update Creates More Oceanview Staterooms

One of the most significant updates during Zuiderdam’s drydock was the addition of 11 oceanview staterooms on Deck 1 and Deck 7. The addition slightly increases the ship’s guest capacity.

Guests staying in Verandah Staterooms on Decks 5-10 as well as in Neptune, Signature and Pinnacle suites will enter to find new carpeting.

In addition, Verandah Staterooms on Deck 8 now sport full bathroom updates with new vanities, mirrors, bathtubs, floors and walls.

Approximately 300 other staterooms were also fitted with new bathroom flooring and updated wallpaper.

Revitalized Dining Venues and Public Areas

But there’s more! Guests now sailing aboard Holland America’s Zuiderdam will also notice refreshed public spaces throughout the ship.

For instance, new carpeting was added in the Dining Room, Lido Market, Canaletto, guest corridors, stairwells, elevator lobbies and the Greenhouse Spa & Salon.

The Atrium received new carpeting and a fresh coat of paint. Canaletto and Lido Market now have updated upholstery on dining chairs and banquettes.

But the promotion is available on new bookings only and expires December 17, 2025. “So, definitely call us today to get started planning your trip,” says Pavlus Steudle. “Time is short to take advantage of this great offer!”
