Ready to see zebras, lions, elephants and giraffes in the wilds of Africa? Building on its 25 years of African safari experience, Tauck is now introducing some shorter safaris to complement its existing portfolio of 11 different safari experiences.

“So, whether travelers desire a traditional safari that typically extends two weeks or more, or a bit shorter option that better fits in their schedule or is family-focused, Tauck now has an even greater range of choices,” says Shelby Steudle, president, Pavlus Travel.

Tauck’s new collection of new, shorter African safaris for 2026 and 2027 will complement the tour operator’s existing portfolio of 11 safari itineraries. The three shorter itineraries will reflect Tauck’s Small and Even Smaller Groups approach (averaging 24 and 15 guests).

They’ll also feature expert local guides, carefully selected lodges and tented camps, plus exclusive cultural encounters.

Nine-Night “Spotlight on South Africa and Victoria Falls”

In 2027, “Spotlight on South Africa and Victoria Falls” is a new nine-day journey that begins with three nights in Cape Town, South Africa. Guests will enjoy experiences at Table Mountain and Cape Point.

But spotting wildlife is the big draw. Next, guests will head out on three nights of incredible game drives in the Greater Kruger Area at Kapama River Lodge.

The journey concludes with two nights at Victoria Falls, including visits to the Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust clinic and an elephant encounter experience. At press time, pricing started at $9,990 per person, double occupancy.

Designed as an immersive expedition, the new, 10-day “Tanzania: Serengeti to Zanzibar” itinerary extends from Arusha to Zanzibar. Simply put, guests will travel through Tanzania’s most spectacular game-viewing regions.

For example, travelers will gaze at Tarangire National Park‘s elephant herds, descend into Ngorongoro Crater for close wildlife encounters, and spend three nights in the Serengeti.

At press time, pricing for this tour (excluding air) was $9,690 per person, double occupancy. “Use the contact information at the end of this blog and contact us right away to talk about this fantastic travel adventure,” says Pavlus Steudle.

She emphasizes: “This is likely to be a hot ticket for those looking for maximum wildlife viewing experiences in a bit shorter itinerary.”

If you’d love to take a safari with your family — perhaps you and your teenage children or you, your adult children and grandchildren — then consider the new 10-day “Tanzania: A Grand Family Safari.”

This multi-generational Tauck Bridges adventure has been designed for travelers of all ages. The goal? It’s to experience the majesty of East Africa together.

“This family-friendly itinerary includes everything from a hot-air-balloon flight over the Serengeti Plains at sunrise to visits with schoolchildren at local schools,” says Pavlus’ Steudle. That allows children to connect across cultures through play and share stories too.

Give Pavlus a call to ask about pricing and any added value-perks. At press time, fares began at $9,390 per person, double occupancy.

Tauck’s Safari Journey

Tauck has recently opened bookings for its full 2027 Global Journeys & Safaris portfolio. Those include land, safari, river, and small ship ocean journeys.

For safaris, in particular, Tauck has 25 years of experience. “Twenty-five years of our safari journeys in Africa represents something special,” says Jennifer Tombaugh, CEO, Tauck. She points to “the deep partnerships we’ve built with conservation organizations, local communities, and the incredible guides who bring these landscapes to life.”

Through Tauck’s Impact efforts, Tombaugh explains that the tour operator is supporting the people, wildlife, and landscapes that make these journeys extraordinary. “To see our guests embrace this way of traveling—both in Africa and across the world—is deeply meaningful, and it reinforces why this work matters so much,” she adds.

Community Partnerships

In Africa, Tauck maintains active partnerships with organizations creating measurable change. Those include the Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust; its goal is to protect vulnerable wildlife and supports nearby communities through rescue work and conservation science.

For instance, in 2024 alone, the trust removed 53 snares in combating poaching. It also rehabilitated 13 animals for release back into the wild. And it engaged in conservation education with more than 1,200 locals including nearly a thousand students in 37 schools.

Another partner is Save the Rain, which transforms daily life for women and girls in northern Tanzania. How so? It replaces hours-long walks for water with rain-harvesting systems.

Through the installation of 40 residential rainwater systems, more than 1,000 individuals now have access to clean water at home. The impact is measurable: 96 percent of children report no water-related illness and 98 percent of girls are staying in school.

Tauck does much good in Africa. For consumers, it also provides amazing opportunities for eco-adventure and wildlife viewing. So, if lions, zebras and elephants are an enticing vacation thought, why not contact a personal travel planner at Pavlus Travel to learn more?
