The way to a guest’s heart on a luxury cruise vacation often comes down to several factors. Certainly, “the destination” rules. So do top suites and pampering guest service. For many guests, though, it’s all about the cuisine!
So, here are several culinary news tidbits recently announced by major cruise lines.

1. Regent Seven Seas: Evening Pool Grill
For those seeking night-time relaxed dining at sea, Regent Seven Seas Cruises has introduced evening service at the Pool Grill. That includes a new pizzeria menu, so guests can enjoy a casual, yet refined al fresco experience each night.
“Our guests love the exceptional onboard cuisine we are renowned for, but they also appreciate the freedom to enjoy dining in a more leisurely setting when the mood strikes, especially after an exhilarating day of exploration,” explains Jason Montague, the line’s chief luxury officer.
So, this new evening self-service dining at the Pool Grill is now available or will be soon on all ships across the fleet. The new pizzeria menu was first introduced on Seven Seas Mariner after its December 2025 drydock.
It’s since been added to Seven Seas Explorer, Seven Seas Grandeur and Seven Seas Splendor. Coming soon, the menu will debut on Seven Seas Voyager after that ship’s May 2026 refurbishment and on Seven Seas Prestige upon its launch later this year.
The new evening Pool Grill dining is available from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., weather permitting. It’s just one more choice for guests on the culinary side.
Culinary Update: Pizza Diversity!
The new menu includes 10 different pizzas, including:
- Burrata e Coppa: tomato, mozzarella, coppa, arugula and burrata.
- Tartufo e Porcini: Italian sausage, porcini, mozzarella and black truffle cream.
- Vegeteriana: mozzarella, peppers, red onions, eggplant, zucchini, mushroom and spinach.
In addition, guests can chow down on more than just pizza! They might savor a freshly prepared, strip-loin minute steak, rosemary-roasted chicken, Provençal-marinated lamb chops and vegetable kebabs.
Another choice for guests is the salad bar and such appetizers as hummus with pita chips, Caprese salad, Greek salad and more. Complementing the setting, travelers can sip on sparkling wines and Champagnes. Plus, the adjacent pool bar is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
2. New Dining Venues on Oceania Sonata
In summer 2027, the luxurious, 1,390-passenger Oceania Sonata will set sail for Oceania Cruises. Check out our recent blog about Oceania Sonata’s suites plus the line’s new Adults-Only policy.
Dining-wise, the new ship will have one chef aboard for every eight guests. Half of the ship’s crew will be devoted to culinary operations.
Guests will enjoy 13 culinary experiences aboard at no additional cost. Debuting aboard Oceania Sonata will be the exclusive “La Table par Maîtres Cuisiniers de France,” a fine dining restaurant.
What’s special? It will be the only restaurant at sea launched with a seal of approval by the fabled Maîtres Cuisiniers de France (Master Chefs of France). That’s a group dedicated to promoting French culinary arts.

Plus, the ship will offer the bright-and-airy Nikkei Kitchen, open each evening. Home to a modern, open kitchen, it will serve unique dishes reflecting Peruvian flavors and Japanese culinary techniques and tastes.
In addition to the new dining venues, Oceania Sonata will have a new Opus Lounge, near the lobby and adjacent to the Library. During the day, it will serve as a living room. In the evening, it will transform into a chic bar, a spot for socializing with family members, friends and fellow guests.

3. Culinary Update: Silver Muse’s S.A.L.T. Venues
Silversea‘s renowned S.A.L.T. (Sea and Land Taste) program has been expanded on Silver Muse. Certain S.A.L.T. programming was already aboard the ship, but now guests will discover a new S.A.L.T. Kitchen and S.A.L.T. Bar as well.
The additions allow Silver Muse‘s guests to indulge in destination-inspired menus and regionally crafted cocktails. That’s designed to help deepen travelers’ connections to the regions visited.
“The transformation of Silver Muse underscores our commitment to delivering the most exceptional experiences at sea,” says Bert Hernandez, president, Silversea. He says that the changes will enrich “the intimacy, elegance, and culinary immersion that define Silversea.”

The S.A.L.T. enhancements were completed during a recent drydock, Silver Muse’s first since 2019. In addition, the ship also offers other reimagined public spaces and more suite options.
More Culinary/Beverage Enhancements
Aboard Silver Muse, guests also now have some popular culinary or beverage experiences from other Silversea ships. These include Dolce Vita’s Italian‑inspired aperitivo experience, featuring new signature cocktails. Among those is the bold Cerberus Negroni – crafted with gin, Pedro Ximénez‑infused Campari, and sage butter vermouth.
The popular Arts Cafe has introduced new pastries and Ronnefeldt tea selections. Silver Muse’s Grill enhanced its selection of poolside classics.
“In addition, the Italian-focused La Terrazza has debuted a new tableside martini cart, new signature cocktails and some new non‑alcoholic options,” says Shelby Steudle, president, Pavlus Travel & Cruises.
The Pavlus executive notes that Silver Muse‘s upgraded in‑suite dining program also now has both a refreshed dinner menu and all‑day favorites. Both are served by dedicated butlers.
Many other enhancements were made to Silver Muse. For example, new Medallion Suites balance space and value. They feature a veranda, a luxurious bathroom with double vanity, bathtub, and walk-in shower, plus a secluded bedroom area with a king-sized bed.
