When travelers take a river cruise, they often look for ways to personalize and customize the experience. Uniworld Boutique River Cruises makes that easier by offering themed cruises that dovetail with guests’ hobbies or interests.

In its latest “reveal,” the luxury river line has introduced 2025 themed cruises — some new, some returning favorites.

For example, one is a music-themed voyage. Another is an all-inclusive golf package add-on to a France cruise. The third is the line’s first-ever women-only themed voyage.

“Traveling with like-minded guests who enjoy the same hobbies or interests can often enhance the vacation experience,” emphasizes Shelby Steudle, president, Pavlus Travel. “Past themed cruises have been extremely popular with our clients.”

And over time, “travelers have demonstrated an increasing desire for more specialized and unique experiences,” adds Ellen Bettridge, Uniworld’s president and CEO.

Themed River Cruises

Totally new is Uniworld’s first-ever “Women-Only Cruise.” It will set sail August 24, 2025, on the line’s eight-day “Burgundy & Provence” itinerary.

On that journey of the 158-passenger Catherine between Arles and Lyon, France, different generations of women can connect via unique excursions. So, women will enjoy everything from truffle hunting to onboard workshops by local artisans and a bike ride to the Chartreuse.

But they’ll also enjoy a “Sound of Music” tour in Salzburg, an organ concert at Abbey Durnstein and an exclusive Mozart and Johann Strauss concert.

Themed River Cruise: Golf Package

For six summer 2025 sailings, Uniworld will introduce an all-inclusive ‘”Premium Golf Package.”  It will create additional golf-focused features for the eight-day “Brilliant Bordeaux” itinerary roundtrip from Bordeaux, France.

Golfers will tee off for 18-hole rounds at both Cabot Bordeaux and St. EmilionPlus, they’ll receive a shared caddy service, gourmet dining, beverages, surprise gifts and more.

Uniworld’s “Generations Collection” voyages are designed for multigenerational families with children 4-to-17 years 0f age. Conveniently planned around school breaks, these family-focused sailings are slated for select departures.

Families will sail Europe’s Rhine and Danube rivers in summer 2025, or Egypt’s Nile River in December 2025. Ships utilized for the family sailings will vary by itinerary. These select dates for family cruises will all offer activities and amenities tailored for children.

As a result, kids and adult family members will head out on active and educational shore excursions. Back on board, families might concoct yummy desserts with the ship’s pastry chef or learn a few words of a local language. Families might also take a “VIP ship tour” or attend craft workshops.

Dedicated Lounge

During Generations Collections cruises, young travelers will find a dedicated lounge and game room on their river vessel. It will offer PlayStation, games, movies and local treats.

In addition, look for two family hosts on each themed family cruise. They’ll organize kid-centric activities. Plus, they’ll set up special dining options for young travelers.

These cruises start at $3,959 per person, double occupancy.

More Themed Options

Uniworld first launched its “Jewish Heritage Sailings” in 2017. They pay homage to the 2,000-year-old history of Jewish people in Europe. These are on select dates of the “Delightful Danube & Prague and “Remarkable Rhine & Historic Holland itineraries in 2025.

Guests can expect visits to museums, memorials, synagogues and more. Itineraries will focus on cross-cultural experiences. That’s a plus for those exploring their roots and for anyone seeking an immersive journey through European history.

Separately, a 2025 Out on the Rivers sailing designed for the LGBTQ+ community will depart on December 8, 2025.  With pricing starting at $3,779 per person, double occupancy, this sailing will take place aboard River Duchess’ “Classic Christmas Markets itinerary, departing on December 8, 2025.
