10 New Viking Cruises to Check Out for 2026-2027

Are you a loyal past guest of Viking‘s ocean voyages? Or perhaps you’ve never sailed on this upscale cruise line but are curious about its ocean cruise itineraries? Either way, we invite you to check out the new Viking cruises planned for 2026 and 2027.

Viking is offering 10 new eight- to 22-day itineraries to the Mediterranean, United Kingdom, Ireland and Northern Europe. One highlight for destination “collectors” is that the ocean fleet will call at 12 ports not previously included on Viking’s schedules.

Those include Fowey, England; Bordeaux, France; Limerick (Foynes), Ireland; Riga, Latvia; Klaipeda, Lithuania; Londonderry, Northern Ireland; Haugesund, Norway; Palma de Mallorca and Bilbao, Spain; Fort William and Tobermory, Scotland; and Karlskrona, Sweden.

New Viking Cruises

With a fleet of small sister ships that carry fewer than 1,000 passengers, Viking offers more than 100 different itineraries across all five oceans. “Every Viking itinerary is focused on the destination, and our state-of-the-art ships, with no children and no casinos, allow guests to explore the world in elegant Viking comfort,” says Torstein Hagen, Viking’s chairman and CEO.

Now, here’s the enticing lineup of new itineraries!

1. New Med Sailing: “Amalfi Coast, Africa & Iberia“

During this eight-day Mediterranean voyage from Civitavecchia (Rome) to Barcelona, Spain, travelers will explore Italy, Tunisia and Spain. One perk of this voyage? Five tours are included in the cruise fare.

So, you can admire the Amalfi Coast’s beauty at the pretty town of Salerno. You’ll explore the ancient Roman harbor of Carthage in La Goulette, Tunisia. And at Spain’s Valencia, be sure to savor the city’s signature paella, a tasty dish of seafood and rice!

2. New Viking Cruises: “Spain & Portugal Discovery“

Sailing between Lisbon, Portugal, and Barcelona, Spain, this new eight-day itinerary includes time for visiting Seville, Malaga and the grandiose Alhambra Palace in Granada, all in Spain.

Also, guests will visit Spain’s Balearic Islands at Palma de Mallorca and delve into North African culture at Tangier, Morocco.

“While the ship is in Barcelona, travelers can also explore Antoni Gaudi’s many incredible architectural wonders,” suggests Shelby Steudle, president, Pavlus Travel.

“One is the spectacular Sagrada Familia, a massive church that’s more than a century old,” she says, adding that construction to finish the iconic religious structure continues today.

3. New Viking Cruises: “British Isles & Ireland“

For those seeking a bit longer vacation, this journey spans 15 days between London, U.K., and Belfast, Northern Ireland. One highlight? At Fort William, Scotland, travelers can behold the splendor of Ben Nevis, the largest mountain in the British Isles.

During a port call in Ireland, travelers can visit the ancient city of Limerick, home to King John’s Castle on the banks of the River Shannon. And in the U.K., the ship will also call at Cornwall, England, and the Scottish destinations of Greenock and Tobermory.

“One big itinerary benefit is that the voyage is nicely ‘bookended’ with overnight stays in London and Belfast,” says Pavlus‘ Steudle. “So, guests can do even more in these two vibrant cities.”

4. New: “Iberia, France & England Explorer“

This 12-day itinerary begins with an overnight in Lisbon, Portugal. Then the ship will sail to enticing ports in Portugal, Spain, France and the United Kingdom.

One art-and-architectural highlight? At Bilbao, Portugal, cruise guests will have an opportunity to tour the impressive Guggenheim Museum and explore the city’s quaint old town.

Cruise guests who are “foodies” should also carve out a bit of time to taste Bilbao’s delicious “pintxos” — the Basque version of “tapas.” 

After starting with an overnight in Lisbon, the ship itinerary will include port calls at Porto (Leixoes), Portugal; A Coruna, Bilbao, Spain; Bordeaux and Honfleur (Paris), France; and Dover, England. The voyage then ends in Greenwich (London).

5. New Viking Cruises: “Scandinavian Discovery“

Travelers will visit gorgeous fjords, remote locales and bustling cities as the 930-passenger Viking Saturn sets sail on a new eight-day “Scandinavian Discovery” itinerary.

Traveling between Oslo, Norway, and Stockholm, Sweden, the ship will operate multiple 2027 departure dates. Best of all, six guided tours are included within each guest’s cruise fare.

Ports of call include Gothenburg, Sweden; Copenhagen, Denmark; Karlskrona and Gotland (Visby), Sweden; and Mariehamn in the remote Åland Islands, an autonomous Finnish territory. Also, an overnight stay in Stockholm, Sweden, provides more time to explore Viking history, art and local culture.
