Indulge Your “Need for Speed”

“If you have a “need for speed” in cruise activities and enrichment, look no further. This 10-night “Formula 1 Spotlight Voyage” will be hosted by former Formula 1 driver Pedro de la Rosa.

In onboard meet-and-greets and Q&A sessions, guests will have opportunities to interact with this racing veteran of more than 100 Grand Prix races.

Plus, Aston Martin Aramco’s engineers and executives will host a series of workshops, master classes and panel discussions. Guests will learn about the business of racecar design and innovation.

Off the ship, guests will also have opportunities for both destination immersion and motorsport-racing-themed activities.

Formula 1 Cruise: Seven Seas Splendor

Racing fans will certainly sail in the lap of luxury. The 746-passenger Seven Seas Splendor will operate this special “Formula 1 Spotlight Voyage.” Departing July 22, 2025, the ultra-luxury ship will sail from Barcelona, Spain, to Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy.

Along the voyage route, the ship will call at Valencia, Ibiza and Palma de Mallorca, Spain; Marseille (Provence) and Saint-Tropez, France; Monte Carlo, Monaco; Portofino and Livorno (Tuscany), Italy.

Formula 1 Spotlight Voyage

“This one-of-a-kind, once-in-a-lifetime sailing aboard our newest ship will allow luxury travelers to immerse themselves in the world of motor racing and the rich heritage of the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team through fascinating experiences and perspectives,” explains Andrea DeMarco, president of Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

Aboard the luxurious Seven Seas Splendor, DeMarco says travelers will also find “the highest standards of personalized service, unlimited shore excursions and exquisite cuisine.”

“The newly unveiled Spotlight Voyage, which will take place right in the heart of the 2025 [Formula One] season, is the perfect way for guests to get an exclusive look into the fascinating inner workings of an iconic Formula One team,” says Jefferson Slack, managing director – commercial and marketing, Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team.

Motorsports-Themed Exploring

Among the many ports of call, Barcelona, Spain, and Monte Carlo, Monaco, in particular, are steeped in motor-racing heritage and traditions. Here’s what we know so far about one specially curated shore excursion.

Guests will visit the Classic Cars Collection and experience the iconic Monaco Circuit.  They’ll then be treated to a lavish lunch, followed by an aperitivo overlooking Port Hercule and viewing of Formula 1 memorabilia.

And this one-of-a-kind shore experience ends with a panoramic helicopter flight, delivering a sense of the quintessential race day arrival/departure experience. (Just FYI, additional details were not yet available at press time.)

Back on Board: Formula 1 Cruise

Back on board, luxury travelers will be greeted by a full-size replica of one of the team’s race cars. Displayed on one of the ship’s public decks, it will, of course, sport a Regent Seven Seas Cruises logo.

For this special Formula 1 cruise, the ship will also “host” an Aston Martin simulator. So, guests can test their racing skills on a virtual circuit. And then there’s the chance to mix and mingle with de la Rosa.

From his viewpoint: “I’ve spent over three decades pursuing my passion for racing in every corner of the globe, and I can’t wait to share this passion and my unique experiences with both Regent and Aston Martin Aramco fans while cruising the Mediterranean on this special voyage.”

Other facets of the cruise? Look for “Race Day” themed dishes, cocktails, deck parties, documentary airings, gifts, co-branded merchandise in the ship’s boutique and special Culinary Arts Kitchen classes.

Formula 1 Cruise: Fares and Shore Excursions

At press time, cruise fares for the “Formula 1 Spotlight Voyage” started at $8,449 per person, double occupancy. If interested in this motorsport-themed cruise, talk with a Pavlus Travel personal travel planner right away, as this Formula 1 cruise will likely sell out quickly.

Good to know? Regent Seven Seas offers a choice of up to 101 included shore excursions. That said, some shoreside experiences will carry an additional cost and have limited capacity.

Motor-Racing Themed Land Programs

But there’s more! Regent Seven Seas has curated new pre- and post-cruise land programs that are motor-racing themed. Guests can explore famous racetracks and view exceptional private car collections.

Important Note to Readers: At press time, the cruise line had not yet revealed prices or other details for these land programs. So, we’ll lay out below what we know about the pre- or post-cruise packages. But check with a personal travel planner about getting updates for this voyage and the motorsport-related land programs.

Pre-Cruise in Barcelona

Guests might opt for the three-night pre-cruise journey in Barcelona. First, they’ll set out on a walking tour, followed by a delectable dinner at a traditional Catalan eatery.

Then, they can “rev up” their excitement with a thrilling drive at Montjuic Historical Street F1 Racetrack. That’s complemented by a scenic helicopter tour.

Guests will also indulge in a sumptuous lunch paired with Catalan wines and discover iconic landmarks. This pre-cruise adventure will conclude with a memorable dinner before guests board the ship the following day.

Post-Cruise in Bologna, Italy (from Rome)

How about a four-night journey through the heart of Italian automotive excellence? After traveling from Rome via Bologna, travelers will explore the legacy of Enzo Ferrari at the museum in Modena. Then guests will also visit the iconic Imola Racetrack.

That’s followed by vineyard tastings and visits to Lamborghini and vintage mechanic shops. The land program will conclude with a farewell dinner after a day of Pagani and Ferrari experiences.

Post-Cruise Highlight! Aston Martin Aramco Race Weekend

One incredible motor racing post-cruise option for the Formula 1 Cruise is Regent Seven Seas’ four-night Aston Martin Aramco Race Weekend Experience” in Hungary.

“Guests will take a flight from Rome to Budapest to enjoy all the action,” says Shelby Steudle, president, Pavlus Travel. It’s expected to be a fabulous way for fans to end their Formula 1 cruise with a hotel stay and much more.

Parting Thoughts

Again, Regent Seven Seas says that full details and pricing of the three above land programs will be confirmed at a later date. But for more information on the Formula 1 cruise itself, check out this Regent Seven Seas’ website page.

Prefer a different type of ultra-luxury cruise? Regent Seven Seas has great promotional deals on select Exotic Collection cruises for bookings made by June 30, 2024.

So, call your personal travel planner to discuss your vacation dreams, whatever those entail. If they center on Formula 1, though, do it sooner rather than later (given what’s expected to be strong demand for the newly announced racing-themed voyage).

VRrroooooom! Racing fans get ready to hit the Formula 1 circuit!
